LG Dual Optimus Android 2.3
This is precisely the point of force, combined with version 2.3 Gingerbread Android operating system (even if initially sold with the 2.2 Froyo) and the ability to watch and record high-definition video to 1080p.With its powerful dual-core processor, is a smartphone that is the closest to a hypothetical use as a portable console.
LG Dual Optimus Android 2.3 Features
LG Dual Optimus comes with a 4-inch screen with 800 by 480 pixel resolution, 8MP camera, HDMI out, 3.5mm headset jack, FM radio tuner, stereo speakers, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, and a MicroSD slot capable of 32GB. It’s also got 8GB of internal memory and 512MB RAM.The 4-inch WVGA (800 x 480) LCD is a notch above the average. Bright and well saturated, retaining its color fidelity even at oblique viewing angles, we noted.
It is slim at .43 inches and light less than 5 ounces but has that solid feel in the hand. I’m not a big fan of the metal stripe on the back, but many others might. The glass front slopes off on its left and right edges before being engulfed by a metallic frame that wraps around the whole handset. Fit and finish between the two is perfect. Then there’s the flexible matte plastic cover that accounts for its entire rear section.
The loudspeaker on the LG Dual Optimus 2X sits behind the right grille. The earpiece is also up to par.The Optimus 2X feels very well put together rigid and unyielding although its construction materials are nothing special and don’t you forget that it sports a dual-core processor, that’s two cores each running at 1GHz.
NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 system-on-chip is the heart of the matter here. Already highlighted by two 1GHz Cortex-A9 CPU cores and eight GeForce GPU cores, LG still finds the room to include native HDMI and dual display support. Pairing those two together means you can see content on your Optimus 2X and your nearest HDTV at the same time.
You can find plenty of use for the dual display functionality, particularly when browsing or showing off pictures on the handset, but it also helps tilt-controlled games like the preloaded Shrek Kart transform the 2X into a very slick-looking motion controller for big-screen gaming.
The Optimus 2X has seven homescreens which you can tone down to 5 or 3, depending on what you want. Double tapping the home button or pinching the home screen will offer an overview of your screens for quick jumping.
Android’s notifications/status bar has toggle options for sound, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Auto-rotate, and music pinned to the top. The applications tray also comes with additional options.
The LG Optimus 2X truly runs smooth with the Tegra 2 processor and Android 2.2, zipping in and out of a full set of multimedia features. Multimedia and gaming are excellent, HDMI mirroring is awesome, and the the 8MP camera and HD camcorder are wonderfully effective.
The touch response from the LG Optimus 2X is really excellent. It showed no sign of lag. General navigation is fast and diving from one app to another is really slick. The dual core processor really works wonders for the multimedia features of the Optimus 2X. Whether browsing the web, watching video, listening to music and multi-tasking or playing games, the Optimus 2X is fast.
The Tegra 2 allowed high definition video and high action games to run equally smooth without any noticeable issues. The call quality is also great on the Optimus 2X.
LG has fully embraced the Android world. After the Optimus One and a couple other mid-range LG Android phones, The Optimus 2X has already carved a special niche as the first Android phone equipped with a dual-core processor.
